In 2004, U.S. citizens adopted approximately 102 children from Poland. Polish law specifies that children adopted by foreigners must be considered hard to place in a Polish family. These children reside in orphanages.

Travel required: Yes, if married, both must travel; in-country stay of approximately 3-5 weeks
Singles accepted: Yes
Other: Preference is given to applicants of Polish descent or with other connections to Polish heritage and culture. Parents may not be over 44 years old if they wish to adopt a child under four years old.
